Scrub the white ceramic material with the abrasive side of the sponge. Rinse well. Do NOT use any soap on the filter. Do NOT allow water to enter the stem of the filter. Lay filters on the side until ready to install.
Pre-sediment pleated filters in under counter/countertop water filter systems and whole home systems can be rinsed out.
